What we’re loving this month: Milan Design Week
The centerpiece of Milan Design Week is the Salone Del Mobile Milano, showcasing cutting-edge furniture and design trends. We are loving these new pieces! They are sure to add a contemporary flair to your home for years to come. And beyond that… they showcase how designers are pushing the boundaries of design and creating new and exciting pieces for our homes. Take a look at what we’re loving…
Lillybet Chair
Kartell has always been at the forefront of modern furniture, focusing on modern materials. And this year, they introduced a new chair where AI was used to create a new fabric. The Lillybet chair is plastic framed chair with upholstered seat and back. It’s this fabric where AI has created this traditional toile de joie pattern in a jacquard style that gives this pattern a new texture and modern twist. The past informs the future.
141 Series by Bocci
These free-hand molten glass petals create an ethereal pendant where the magic of LED lighting is seamlessly introduced. They can be simple with a singular string of petals or grouped together to create a lovely cluster of illuminated puddles of glass.
Anemon by Kasthall
This fun floral wool and linen rug may look like a contemporary pattern but it’s actually based on an archived design from 1991. Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg created a sketch of blossoms in three shades and it is now part of the Kasthall collection in three colourways. This mix of blue and purple is fun and vibrant and a real attention grabber. It’s a happy rug.
Me-Time by Moroso
The whole purpose of this design was to create a sofa with comfort as the ultimate design brief. Everything about this pieces invites you in. From gentle curves that give way, the surfaces that curve and hug other surfaces and a fabric that evokes emotion and memory. It’s more than just upholstery… it’s an island of comfort. And we love that fabric too.
